Best Ai agent/assistant with human-like permissions

Show original source text →
I'm looking for an AI agent/assistant that can do most anything I can do. And without me needing to code anything or manually link APIs etc. Basically something I can program through iterative chats not CLI. Specifically things like this: * Search reddit comments fully like a human could * Visit sites that block bots (eg redfin) * Send me emails like a daily briefing that I customize * Do things for me like send an email to X or update excel file Y * Nice to haves: make reservations etc Price point doesn't matter. I don't need to run it at scale, so it doesn't need to circumvent data scraping volume limits. I want to know if this exists or not yet. Does perplexity computer do this? Thank you.

Synthesis verdict
**Pivot**: The idea of creating an AI agent that can perform a wide range of tasks without requiring coding or manual API linking is ambitious, but it faces significant technical and regulatory challenges. While there is a clear market for such a product, the existing solutions and platforms already provide most of the requested features, leaving little room for a uniquely defensible new entrant. The technical execution and reliability of such a service are significant hurdles, and the venture's viability is severely threatened by platform restrictions, regulatory hurdles, and the high technical bar for user-friendly, code-less customization.

Strengths

  • - Clear market demand for a conversational digital employee that learns tasks like a human, without code
  • - Potential for high-intent market among knowledge workers, entrepreneurs, and professionals
  • - Favorable unit economics due to low customer acquisition costs and high margins

Weaknesses

  • - Significant technical challenges in integrating diverse AI capabilities into a single, user-friendly agent
  • - Existing solutions and platforms already provide most of the requested features, leaving little room for a uniquely defensible new entrant
  • - Platform restrictions, regulatory hurdles, and high technical bar for user-friendly, code-less customization pose significant risks

Best angle

The product should focus on developing a seamless, human-like conversational interface that integrates with existing AI and automation tools to provide a reliable, safe, and no-code experience for knowledge workers and professionals.

Viability

4.0

“The main challenge lies in integrating diverse AI capabilities into a single, user-friendly agent that can autonomously perform a wide range of tasks without requiring technical expertise.”

The idea of creating an AI agent that can perform a wide range of tasks without requiring coding or manual API linking is ambitious. While some components, such as searching Reddit comments or sending emails, can be achieved with existing AI and automation tools, others, like visiting sites that block bots (e.g., Redfin), pose significant technical challenges due to anti-scraping measures and CAPTCHAs. The requirement for iterative chat programming rather than CLI is feasible with advancements in natural language processing (NLP) and user-friendly interfaces for task automation. However, integrating these capabilities into a single, seamless agent that can handle diverse tasks without manual intervention is complex. Perplexity AI, for example, is a sophisticated tool that can process natural language queries and provide relevant information, but it is not designed to perform actions like sending emails or updating Excel files autonomously. The development of such a comprehensive AI assistant would require significant advancements in AI, particularly in areas like task automation, web interaction, and NLP. Given the complexity and the current state of technology, building a functional v1 within 4-12 weeks with a solo or 2-person team is highly unlikely.

Market

“The market isn't for another automation tool - it's for a conversational digital employee that learns tasks like a human, without code.”

There is a clear, high-intent market for this product among knowledge workers, entrepreneurs, and professionals who are tech-savvy but not developers - people who need automation but lack the time or skill to code. This includes real estate agents (needing Redfin data), consultants (needing Reddit research), executives (needing customized daily briefs), and small business owners (needing Excel updates or email automation). While tools like AutoGPT, BabyAGI, or even Cursor and Perplexity's Computer use AI for limited automation, none offer a truly conversational, no-code, general-purpose agent that can reliably navigate blocked sites, scrape dynamic content, interact with email/Excel, and learn tasks iteratively through chat. Perplexity's Computer is a step in this direction but remains limited to web search and basic interaction - it cannot autonomously send emails, update files, or make reservations without manual scripting. The unmet need is a 'digital twin' assistant that learns by doing, not by configuration. The audience is substantial: over 100M knowledge workers globally who use tools like Excel, Gmail, and Reddit daily and are frustrated by fragmented automation tools. They'd pay $50 - $200/month for a reliable, safe, no-code agent. The technical barriers (anti-bot systems, API integrations, state management) are solvable with current LLM + agent architectures, but no product has yet unified them into a seamless, human-like conversational interface. The demand is latent but intense - users are currently cobbling together tools like Zapier + Selenium + ChatGPT, which is brittle and time-consuming. A polished, reliable version would be a category-defining product.

“The venture's viability is severely threatened by platform restrictions, regulatory hurdles, and the high technical bar for user-friendly, code-less customization.”

The proposed AI agent faces significant barriers due to its broad, ambitious scope and dependency on accessing restricted platforms. **1. Platform Risk (8/10 Severity)**: Websites like Redfin actively block bots to protect their content. An AI agent attempting to access such sites without explicit API permissions or a legitimate, non-bot user agent profile would likely be detected and blocked within months. **2. Regulatory Compliance (6/10 Severity)**: Scraping certain sites or sending automated emails may violate GDPR, CCPA, or CAN-SPAM, leading to legal issues. **3. Technical Complexity & Churn (9/10 Severity)**: The requirement for iterative, code-less programming to perform diverse tasks (e.g., custom email briefings, updating Excel files, making reservations) without user coding or API linking is highly complex. Users may churn due to the agent's inability to perfectly understand nuanced requests or fail to deliver on expectations across all desired functionalities.

“The market exists, but the technical execution and reliability of such a service are significant hurdles.”

The idea targets a niche but high-value market segment willing to pay for a highly personalized AI assistant. The pricing model could be a premium subscription (e.g., $200-$500/month) or a one-time setup fee plus hourly charges for complex tasks. The conversion path involves a high-touch sales process, given the customization required. Unit economics are favorable due to low customer acquisition costs (targeting tech-savvy individuals) and high margins (minimal physical overhead). However, the challenge lies in the technical feasibility of reliably executing tasks like bypassing bot-blocking sites and integrating with diverse APIs without manual setup. Perplexity Computer does not fully meet these needs as it lacks the ability to perform actions like sending emails or updating files autonomously.

“Existing AI agent and no - code automation platforms already provide most of the requested features, leaving little room for a uniquely defensible new entrant.”

The described capability - an AI agent that can be programmed through natural - language chat to perform web searches, interact with bot - protected sites, send emails, edit spreadsheets, and make reservations - already exists in fragmented form across several platforms. General - purpose AI agent frameworks such as AutoGPT, BabyAGI, LangChain - based agents, and OpenAI's GPT - 4 with browsing allow users to give high - level instructions that are translated into tool calls (search, email, file manipulation). Workflow automation tools like Zapier, Make (Integromat), and Microsoft Power Automate let non - technical users chain actions via natural - language triggers, and RPA vendors (UiPath, Automation Anywhere) provide desktop - level automation that can emulate human browsing, including handling some anti - bot measures. While none of these solutions offer a single, seamless chat - only interface that reliably bypasses sophisticated bot defenses (e.g., Redfin's JavaScript challenges) without violating terms of service, the core functions are already covered by existing APIs and no - code platforms. Consequently, a new entrant would struggle to establish a durable moat; differentiation would rely on marginal improvements in UI or specific integrations rather than a fundamentally novel capability, making long - term defensibility weak.
